Apple Orchards in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia

Georgia may in fact be the peach state, but come to the North Georgia Mountains for the apple orchards. According to Southern Living Magazine's October, 2002 edition, Mercier Orchards is their "favorite roadside apple market." According to the article,” the cooks create some of the most memorable pastries, fried pies, fritters, doughnuts and dumplings that you will find anywhere." So whether you’re stopping in to Panorama’s for some of their famous fried apple pies topped with ice-cream, or spending a day drinking hot cider and picking your own apples at one of our local orchards, your visit’s not complete unless you sample the real “peach” of this area.
